On September 16, 1973, Cora Lee Davis, age 10, rode her bicycle to the local grocery store. Cora never returned home, and her bicycle was found behind the grocery store. On October 1, 1973, Cora's decomposed remains were found in a field about four miles northeast of Mangum, Oklahoma.
